Instructions

  • Add water, flour, sugar, yeast and salt in the bread machine pan. Then set the machine for dough setting
  • Once the cycle gets completed, remove it from the machine and keep it on a even floured surface
  • Bring 3 quarts of water to boil in a large pot. Then add 3 tbsp sugar and stir well
  • Make 9 equal pieces from the set dough. Then roll each of these pieces into small balls and then flatten them.
  • Make a hole in each of the balls and then enlarge them with the help of your thumb.
  • Then place a wet cloth over the bagels and set them aside for at least 10 min
  • Sprinkle cornmeal slightly over the ungreased baking sheet. Then slowly add the bagels into the boiling water. After boiling bagels for a minute, drain the water using a towel.
  • Then place the bagels over a baking sheet and top them with egg whites. You can choose to add toppings of your choice at this stage.
  • Place the bagels in the preheated oven (190 degrees C) and allow them to bake properly.
  • Serve hot
