Instructions

  • First, invert the wire rack by using canning kettle. Add water just enough to touch the wire rack. Boil the water by placing it on top of a stove.
  • Take a large bowl and mix molasses, baking soda, salt, sugar, milk and oil. Then add Gram and white flour.
  • Once the batter is prepared, divide it into two equal sized coffee cans of 1 pound each.
  • Now place an aluminum foil at the top and use rubber bands to secure it.
  • Now boil the water slowly and keep it under steam for an hour or so.
